With over 54 million views in just a week, the #ซุปเปอร์วาเลนไทน์ (Super Valentine) social media craze is now the lifeline and entertainment for quarantined Thais.
10 years ago, Super Valentine was a popular hit song by Thai country girl group of the same name (SUPER วาเลนไทน์) consisting of members Jane, Noon, and Bo. The intro of the song, which introduces each of the members with an upbeat, catchy tune and dance, was often used when the group would perform in live concerts across Thailand.
And for some random, inexplicable reason, three Thai teens picked this song up and recorded themselves performing it on Youtube and Tiktok in February 2020.
Since then, Thailand has never been the same.
