Thailand’s government said on Sunday that its health services had discovered no new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the fourth time that the number of new cases was at zero since the outbreak began.
There were no new fatalities meaning the death toll remains at 56.
Five more patients have recovered from the virus meaning that the total number of discharged patients rose to 2,921 people with 63 people remaining in hospital.
Thailand’s low number means that the country will now prioritize economic recovery as two months of lockdown measures have caused many market disruptions.
Thailand’s central bank predicted that the country’s economy could contract by as much as five per cent this year.
