Curfew to be lifted; Phase 4 will begin on Monday

The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said on Friday that the curfew will be lifted and Phase 4 of the easing period will commence from Monday, June 15 onwards. 

However, the State of Emergency (SOE) and the entry ban will remain intact. Pubs, bars, beer houses and karaoke places will also stay closed. 

Whether the SOE will be lifted or extended will be determined near the end of June, National Security Council Somsak Roongsita said on Friday.

No decision has been made regarding the Songkran Holiday or the travel bubble negotiations yet. 

Currently, there is talk of splitting up the Songkran Holidays throughout the remainder of 2020, cultural minister Ittipol Khunpluem said on Friday.

Phase 4  

Here is the list of businesses and social activities that will resume under social distancing measures in Phase 4 of the easing period:

1. Serving and drinking alcohol at licensed restaurants, food courts and hotels
2. All international schools, tutorials and small-sized schools with less than 120 students. 
3. Fully operational daycare and healthcare centers for kids and elderly people.
4. Meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) and music concerts
5. All sports complexes, training grounds, group exercises and competitive matches but with no audiences with live coverage
6. Spas but not large massage parlors
7. Educational centers and museums such as the Bangkok Planetarium
8. Fun parks, water parks, and playgrounds. However, games and activities which involve a lot of physical contact such as bouncy castles will still be prohibited
9. Gaming machines in shopping malls 
10. Production sets with less than 150 crews and 50 audience members
11. All public and private transportations between provinces

Outbreak prevention measures for every business and activity 

1. Clean every public surface before and after each service and activity
2. Empty all trash daily 
3. Everyone must wear a facemask
4. Check-in and check-out via the government’s tracing platform (Thai Chana) 
5. Crowd control at entrance and exit
6. Enough handwashing stations
