The Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) along with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the state-owned Krungthai Bank (KTB) launched their travel campaigns to promote domestic tourism on Friday with a budget valued at 22.4 billion baht.
The “Tiew Pun Sook” campaign will run through July and October. It also includes the “Rao Tiew Duay Gun” and “Gum Lung Jai” packages.
The Rao Tiew Duay Gun introduces a 40 per cent refund for air ticket but for no more than 1,000 baht. Other deals include a 40 per cent co-payment for participating hotel rooms with a limit of 3,000 baht per night per room and an e-voucher of 600 baht per person.
The budget for the package is 20 billion baht. They are expecting at least 4 million travellers to benefit from it.
The Gum Lung Jai is only for medical volunteers and staffs in local communities and hospitals who will receive a 2,000 baht fund for a two-day one-night travel package.
The budget for this package is 2.4 billion baht with an estimation that 1.2 million medical staff will benefit from it.
The online platform for the campaign is www.เราเที่ยวด้วยกัน.com. KTB’s “Pao Tung” mobile application will then be used to facilitate transactions.
Registration is available for Thai citizens aged 20 or above only and it will be opened on July 15. Travelling will commence on July 30 and onwards.
TAT expects the 22.4 billion baht budget to generate at least 70 billion baht for the economy from the multiplier effects. It will benefit travel agencies, hotels, restaurants and other related businesses.
