With at least 19 protests planned around the country in the upcoming three weeks, students and netizens took to Twitter on Thursday to crowdsource ideas for protests using the hashtag #ไอเดียออกม็อบ (Ideas for protests).
Many responded with genuine suggestions with the hashtag reaching over 190,000 tweets as of Thursday afternoon.
“I think it is a creative way for the student leaders to not only crowdsource new ideas but make it feel like internet users have some ownership over the protests,” said Thai political commentator Arun Saronchai.
The protesters are united in their grievances against the Prayut Chan-ocha government and have called on the prime minister to resign, dissolve the house of parliament and rewrite the military-backed constitution.
