Thailand’s government said on Saturday that it had discovered four new coronavirus infections bringing the total number of infected to 3,004.
Over the last two weeks, most of the new cases were primarily found in Thailand’s southern provinces. Two cases on Saturday was found in Yala while one was in Phuket.
There was one new fatality with the death toll rising to 56.
Three more patients have recovered from the virus bringing the total number of discharged patients to 2,787.
Four million mark reached globally
There are now over 4 million cases of coronavirus infections globally. The hardest-hit country is the United States with 1.3 million infected. 29,162 cases were discovered in the last 24 hours.
Brazil and Russia have also reported increasing number of cases in the last fortnight. Brazil reported 11,121 cases in the last 24 hours while Russia reported 10,699 cases.
