The Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said on Thursday that after 10 days of a partial reopening, nearly 75 per cent of businesses have complied with the government’s health and safety measures.
The CCSA conducted an inspection on 177,026 businesses between May 3 and May 13 to survey whether the ease in lockdown was working.
The CCSA found that 129,724 businesses around the country or 74.1 per cent fully complied with all the measures demanded by the government with 41,800 or 23.6 per cent partially complying while 4,086 or 2.3 per cent have not adhered to the new measures at all.
CCSA’s spokesperson Dr Thaweesin Visanuyothin pointed out that the most common violators were hairdressers.
Shortening of curfew
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha held a meeting with representatives from the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) on Thursday to discuss whether the findings were enough to merit a second wave of easing.
Thai Enquirer understands that one of the issues that was being discussed was the shortening of the curfew by one hour from 22:00pm-04:00am to 23:00pm-04:00am.
The CCSA, chair by the PM, is scheduled to meet again on Friday to pass a decision on this and other easing measures.
