Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban from Korean idol group Blackpink was defrauded by a former manager of over 25 million baht, according to Lisa’s agency, YG Entertainment.
Market News, a Korean news agency, said that Manager A had been with Blackpink since their debut in 2016. Lisa had entrusted her funds with this manager to invest in real estate but they instead used it for gambling.
“Lisa is a foreign member and has been alone in Korea since childhood, so she is very vulnerable to such things as economic ideas,” said an official. “It is a pity that this is happening in the industry. It’s a serious thing that can crack the Korean management image.”
In a statement released by YG Entertainment, the company says that Manager A has already reimbursed a part of the sum and resigned from the company as per Lisa’s desire to settle this amicably.
He has also agreed on a reimbursement plan for the rest of the money.
