Four ministers will resign from their ministerial posts, local reports said on Wednesday.
Reports said Somkid Jatusripitak, the deputy prime minister in charge of economic affairs, will lead members of his economic team collectively known as “the Four Kuman” to resign from their positions.
This includes:
- Uttama Savanayana (the Minister of Finance, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Former Party Leader)
- Sontirat Sontijirawong (the Minister of Energy)
- Suvit Maesincee (the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations)
- Kobsak Pootrakool (the Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister)
All four resigned from the ruling Palang Pracharat Party on July 9.
The news said Somkid and his economic team decided to resign in order to pave way for a cabinet reshuffle.
Somkid also said that he has been ready for a possible shake-up since 2019.
