Thailand’s Department of Disaster Mitigation and Prevention said on Monday that rescue and relief efforts were underway in the North Eastern Province of Loey after flash flooding caused by heavy rain over the weekend brought about by a tropical storm.
The DDMP told Thai Enquirer that all three Amphoe in the province has been affected with 46 total Tambons currently receiving aid.
Both Ministry of Interior and army personnel have been dispatched to the area to provide relief efforts.
“We have the situation currently under control and we’re looking to manage resources to help the most amount of people,” a DDPM spokesman told Thai Enquirer.
According to the meteorological department, sporadic rainstorms are forecast in the region as Tropical Storm Sinlaku dissipates.
People have taken to social media to show the extent of the flooding in the area.
