Thailand’s government said on Tuesday that it had discovered one new coronavirus infection bringing the total number of infected to 2,988.
It is the lowest number of infections over a 24 hour period since the outbreak began.
There were no new fatalities with the death toll still at 54.
Seven more patients have recovered from the virus bringing the total number of discharged patients to 2,747.
On Monday, the government announced 18 new cases of coronavirus infections, all in migrant detention centers. The 18 cases were roughly half the cases in that specific IDC.

The government said it was also waiting on tests for 40 Thais in Yala Province who had visited Malaysia.
The government is sending their results to a central lab after tests in the province proved inconclusive.
